The California Association of Rat Enthusiasts (CARE) is a new rat club located in Southern California. Originally started in late 2006, CARE began as a vision to educate breeders, owners and the general population about fancy rats. Club meetings are held monthly and shows are now forming. Keep checking for updates.

The California Association of Rat Enthusiasts (CARE) is dedicated to promoting and improving the fancy rat through openness, education of owners, mentorship of new breeders, and by offering family-friendly fun and information.

Our dear friend and fellow member, Brian Shafer has passed away. He has been a welcome member of our club, as well as other clubs. He has assisted in rescue operations, been a good friend, and has given nothing but the whole of himself.
Brian will be greatly missed.
